TCC Fees for Vehicles Leaving Algeria

The TCC (TAXE SUR CONSOMMATION CARBURANT) is a mandatory fee established by the Algerian authorities as set out in Article 97 of the 2026 Finance Law (Article 97 Loi de finances 2026) which applies to vehicles leaving the country both by sea and by land. This fee is not dependent on the shipping company and is required by the authorities in order to compensate for the difference between the regulated price and the international price of fuel.

Which vehicles does it apply to?

The TCC fee applies to:

  • Passenger cars
  • Utility vehicles
  • Vans
  • Commercial vehicles
  • Motorhomes
  • Buses
  • Lorries

When and where is it paid?

From now on, Baleària includes the TCC fee for vehicles departing from Algeria in the ticket price. This means that passengers will not have to carry out any additional procedures or make any extra payment at the port in this regard.

Baleària will collect the amount together with the ticket and will be responsible for paying it to the relevant authorities before boarding, in accordance with the established procedure.

What is the cost of the fee?

  • Passenger cars and motorbikes
    1,000 DA per departure
  • Utility vehicles and lorries < 10 tonnes:
    5,000 DA per departure
  • Lorries > 10 tonnes and buses:
    12,000 DA per departure

NOTE:

As this is a fee regulated by the Algerian authorities, the conditions may change without prior notice. Baleària is not able to modify, remove or intervene in its application.
