As announced by the Algerian Ministry of Transport, from June 15 to September 15, 2025, the following types of vehicles will not be allowed to board:

  1. New export vehicles
  2. Export vehicles less than 3 years old
  3. Vans

The export of new vehicles, vehicles due to a change of residence (CCR), or vehicles less than three years old to Algeria is subject to customs regulations of the country of origin and the destination country. The customer must follow these steps:

  1. The customer must first make a regular reservation (passenger + vehicle) through our website: https://www.balearia.com/fr, or by visiting our agency at the port of Valencia, Barcelona, or through their travel agency.

The vehicle registered in the reservation must be the one intended for export, and its specifications must comply with customs regulations for vehicle exportation by individuals to Algeria.

  2. Once the passenger and vehicle reservation is confirmed, to ensure boarding, the customer must mandatorily send the customs documentation DAE (Export Accompanying Document) and their reservation to the email address: export.algerie@balearia.com if traveling via Valencia or exportacion.barcelona@balearia.com if traveling via Barcelona, at least 6 hours before the boat departure. The DAE must indicate the license plate number, the full chassis number (numbers and letters), and the departure port.

  3. The customer must arrive at the port on the day of travel at least 4 hours before the departure time if traveling from Valencia, and at least 6 hours before if traveling from Barcelona, and must have all the necessary documentation for the trip.

If the customer is not the owner of the car, they must present the following documents to the customs authorities:
